Things to see and do near the hotel
There are lots of leisure, culinary and cultural options to enjoy near the Hotel La Costera.

The Rías Baixas: a paradise to discover
The Rías Baixas are coastal inlets in Galicia, starting in the southwest with the Ría de Noia in A Coruña, continuing throughout the province of Pontevedra ending with the Ría de Vigo at the mouth of the River Miño, very close to the Portuguese border. They’re blessed with a very unique microclimate and have a fascinating cultural and culinary heritage, as well as some breathtaking landscapes.

Beaches
The hotel is a stone’s throw from a range of Blue Flag beaches, such as the fantastic Playa Major and Playa Pragueira (10 minutes on foot), Playa de Foxos, Playa das Areas Gordas, Playa das Lapas, and the stunning Playa de la Lanzada, which is a great spot for water sports such as windsurfing and surfing.

Banco Panorámico de Noalla
The Punta Faxilda cliff is the northernmost point of Sanxenxo and is located in the hamlet of Noalla, practically on the back doorstep of the Hotel la Costera. Nicknamed the best bench in the world, the Banco Panorámico is a truly special place for gazing at the ocean and the islands belonging to the Atlantic Islands of Galicia National Park. On a clear day, you’ll get to see the Cies Islands on the left, the Ons just in front of you and Sálvora Island on the right, so this is a must-visit for anyone keen to get the best photos of the Rías Baixas.

Stone and water route
Just 15 minutes away from the hotel you can discover a beautiful route towards the Monastery of Armenteira.
The route goes through the towns of Meis (San Martiño and Armenteira) and Ribadumia (Barrantes). An old road that used to be used traditionally on Easter Monday goes towards the Monastery of Armenteira. The first part is the route of Molinos de Barrantes, which is a mile long, with six restored windmills (molinos in Spanish) on the way. Following the course of the river Armenteira, you get to Meis, where you can find the windmills of Serén. It is a stunning space that has been perfectly renovated and that has a recreational area on the slopes of the mount of Cabeza de Boi. The windmills take you to Aldea Labrega, a representation in granite of rural life in Galicia in the early 20th century. It has all the traditional elements, such as a church, granary, oven, transept and domesticated animals, made entirely by the Stonemasonry School of the Province of Pontevedra. Here is where the second part of the route starts, which is of medium-high difficulty. It is also the most stunning part of the route thanks to its landscape, nature in its purest form. Finally, at the end of the route is the Monastery of Armenteira, which is a 12th century Galician Cistercian architecture.

Paris Dakart go-karting track
Just 600 yards away from our hotel you can find one of Galicia’s most important fun and leisure centres: the Paris Dakart Karting Circuit, which covers almost 650,000 ft2 where different activities take place. The youngest ones can learn how to drive a kart in the children’s circuit and they can even do so in the two-seater karts that they have there. The fastest karts are available for the bravest drivers, who can use the faster track that is 400 metres long and 26 ft wide with plenty of corners. In the same complex you can find other activities such as mini-golf, zip wires, water sphere, a natural lake with canoes and, of course, a quad bike route.
